APPEARANCE AND BODY PERCEPTION ① Describe the character's height and build. [ ʜᴇᴀᴅᴄᴀɴᴏɴ ] Augustine is rather skinny for someone 5'7", coming in at only 135 lbs. They say the professor gets so involved with his research that he'll forget to eat, consuming mostly coffee and cafe bought sweets. ② How old are they? [ ʜᴇᴀᴅᴄᴀɴᴏɴ ] 35 years-old. ③ Describe their posture. Augustine carries himself well within game. I imagine Rowan kicked any slouching tendences out of him at an early age. ④ How is their health? Are they fit or out of shape? Any illnesses or conditions? Any physical disabilities? Slightly underweight and addicted to caffeine, currently fine. ⑤ How do they move? Are they clumsy, graceful, tense, fluid? NORMALLY? lol Pokemon characters. However, he can't rollerskate for the life of him -- no balance. ⑥ How attractive is this character physically? How do they perceive themselves in the mirror? His trophy in Super Smash Brothers says he wakes up every morning and picks something swaggy to wear in traditional Kalos fashion and does his hair. No one comments on his physical appearance otherwise (tis a children's video game.) [ ʜᴇᴀᴅᴄᴀɴᴏɴ ] Social influence keep his public opinion of eligible bachelorhood sky high. "Attractive", "Charming", "Delightful" --ask Diantha or Lysandre however and they'll tell you otherwise. Engulfed in his research he comes off rather dirt-covered and sticky 50% of the time. This doesn't mean Sycamore is aware how unpleasant that is, oh no! He thinks he's the cats ass, ahh yeah! ⑦ Describe their complexion: dark, light, clear, scarred? Kalos is French Pokemon; I'd go with lightly tan/caucasian. ⑧ Describe their hair: color, texture, style. Dark blue, curly styled hair. [ ʜᴇᴀᴅᴄᴀɴᴏɴ ] Washed about once a week if he's not busy. Often resembling a Goomy in texture, from Pokemon saliva to hairspray it's laced with a little of everything. ⑨ What color are their eyes? Gray. ⑩ Does the character have any other noteworthy features? Unshaven, round the clock five o'clock shadow. ⑫ What is the character's wardrobe like? Casual, dressy, utilitarian? Bright colors, pastels, neutrals? Normal found in his lab coat and something "business casual" during work hours. He claims that he is stylish with those red socks with blue shirt? For causal attire he's found in the most embarrassing windbreaker and stupid hat. He's not stylish in the least. ⑬ Do her clothes fit well? Yeah, they fit him rather well. His lab coat isn't over-sized either, it fits him perfectly. ⑮ You knew it was coming: boxers, briefs, or commando? [ ʜᴇᴀᴅᴄᴀɴᴏɴ ] commando. nothing sexually charged, the man's just that lazy. apparently it c SPEECH ① What does this character's voice sound like? High-pitched, deep, hoarse? Apparently, he's got himself one thick french accent. I'm unsure what kind or what area it'd sound most like. he's also been studying around the world so I'm unsure how thick, either.  ② How do they normally speak? Loud, soft, fast, evenly? Do they talk easily, or do they hesitate? Rather confident and well spoken. He's been around rich people long enough to adopt their habits. ③ Does the character have a distinct accent or dialect? Any individual quirks of pronunciation? Any, like, you know, verbal tics? Within the English version of the game, he's the only character that slips French into his normal speech.  ④ What language(s) do they speak and with how much fluency? The Pokemon World Language??? [ ʜᴇᴀᴅᴄᴀɴᴏɴ ] Considering the number of places he's studied I'd say Sycamore could speak a number of languages. Namely, Japanese, French and English... those are the canon places Pokemon regions have been based off of so far. Native language is French. ⑥ Are they a good impromptu speaker, or do they have to think about her words? He blurts out whatever's on his mind, but also polite enough to let someone finish? He might be kinda a fat mouth, but the older he gets the better he becomes at listening.   ⑦ Are they eloquent or inarticulate? Under what circumstances might this change? He's almost always rather eloquent about his speech. Often trying to involve others into their conversation or making sure the player understands his metaphor but because of his fanciful speech he might not be completely understood and I'm not sure that's something his abrupt mind can keep contained. It depends on the person receiving his opinions, I suppose. EMOTIONAL AND MENTAL ① How intelligent is this character? Are they book-smart or street-smart? 100% book / [ ʜᴇᴀᴅᴄᴀɴᴏɴ ] 0% street. Probably has been robbed on his way home in Lumiose once or twice in his life. However, he's incredibly intelligent! Very, very book smart when it comes to Pokemon. Within the game he's also seen traveling with other's 70% of the time. He's a little directionally challenged, likely to get lost. He knows Luminous decently well, however.  ② Do they think on their feet, or do they need time to deliberate? [ ʜᴇᴀᴅᴄᴀɴᴏɴ ] Always thinking, ALL THE TIME, it's what gets him into do much trouble when concerning his own health. Pokemon come before anything, his obsession with them can lead him off course for hours, studying a new habitat or color on some charmander's skin will skip meals and sleep. ③ Describe the character's thought process. Are they more logical or more intuitive? Idealistic or practical? Overall, Augustine is very idealistic and intuitive. Always seeing things from every corner rather than studying surface level information. He enjoys mysteries and solving the unknown. Viewing life from not only his standpoint, but from the position of others, which can often make him sound more whimsical rather than fixated on the seriousness of a given situation. This isn't to say he's easily swayed, however, his opinions are rather grounded. ④ What kind of education has the character had? Augustine has studied in Kalos and in Sinnoh under Professor Rowan. [ ʜᴇᴀᴅᴄᴀɴᴏɴ ] His early life was spent studying to become a Pokemon Professor -- a career many children dream about, but never truly have the aptitude for till later in life. However, Augustine showed tremendous promise, always excelling in his studies. By the time he was ready for his own Pokemon journey, he'd already published a thesis on Professor Samuel Oak and his famous Kanto Pokedex. Flattered and impressed by our young prof-to-be's essay he sent something very special for Augustine over video call, his first Pokemon... A Charmander! Around the age of 14, Sycamore attempted his "Doctorate" (for becoming a Pokemon Professor) and failed his experience qualifications. He needed more background with Pokemon. The idea of a "Pokemon Professor" was rather new at the time-- first time trainers obtained their Pokemon with skill and the Pokemon PC wasn't invented at the time. Everything about the idea of a laboratory and Pokedex was new. That being said, Oak was excited to see how Augustine would grown considering his passion even at such a young age. Augustine studied for four years in Sinnoh before coming home, spending a year in Kalos before setting out again, this time studying under Oak himself around the same time Elm was studying under Oak. After those two years he returned to Kalos once more and spend a good long year re-visiting his home, finding himself by Gurkinn side and becoming extremely fascinated in Mega Evolution. At the young age of 22 he passed his exams and opened his first laboratory in his old Lumiose City home. ⑤ What are their areas of expertise? What, if anything, are they interested in learning more about? Pokemon! Mega Evolution. [ ʜᴇᴀᴅᴄᴀɴᴏɴ ] Finding what makes genetic differences in Pokemon viva their location, from studying habitats to skeletal patterns. ⑥ Are they an introvert or an extrovert? The most extroverted of extroverts. ⑦ Describe the character's temperament. Are they even-tempered, or do they have mood swings? Cheerful or melancholic? Laid-back or driven? Extremely laid back usually, lively during a meal, hyper about his special interest.  ⑧ How do they respond to new people or situations? Are they suspicious, relaxed, timid, enthusiastic? He LOVES meeting new people and exploring new place, getting rather excited to meet the player in person but staying formal and relaxed over phone, letter, or over Holocaster. ⑨ Are they more likely to act or to react? React: he's about studying things, of course he watches. ⑩ Which is their default: fight or flight? Fight! But that doesn't mean he wouldn't put himself in danger if it meant learning something new about Pokemon. ⑪ Describe the character's sense of humor. Do they appreciate jokes? Puns? Gallows humor? Bathroom humor? Pranks? [ ʜᴇᴀᴅᴄᴀɴᴏɴ ] PUN! We don't see his sense of humor within the game expressed, but my voice typical gives him punny fun puns and really shitty childish jokes. ⑫ Does the character have any diagnosable mental disorders? If so, how do they deal with them? Nah, maybe a little obsessive compulsive but that's any nerd. [ ʜᴇᴀᴅᴄᴀɴᴏɴ ] Fights a little with insomnia, doesn't tackle is very well but there always seems to be something to do at the lab. Maybe a little hyper focused on his research.  ⑬ What moments in this character's life have defined them as a person? [ ʜᴇᴀᴅᴄᴀɴᴏɴ ] Becoming a Pokemon Professor! Helping others find the world of Pokemon. ⑭ What do they fear? Not being their for someone in need, he feels deep regret over what happened to Lysandre and feels Augustine himself could have helped him. I feel Sycamore doesn't deal well with death. I'd say if he fears anything, it would be the well being of others. ⑮ What are their hopes or aspirations? To see the next generation off! Go, love and learn about Pokemon. ⑯ What is something they don't want anyone to find out about themselves? [ ʜᴇᴀᴅᴄᴀɴᴏɴ ] His insomnia, diet, and just about anything that a wife "would change." He's a bonafide bachelor with man problems, please don't force him to change! He likes things the way they are... RELATIONSHIPS* ( all headcanons ) ① Describe this character's relationship with their parents. Sycamore comes from a middle class family, born and raised in Lumiose City. During his childhood his father worked six days a week and was rarely home, leaving Augustine to his mother who was overbearing. Her smart little boy would give her already lived young life purpose and helped him get into the right schools despite their class. That overbearing nature makes Sycamore all the opposite and anything but anxious over his upkeep. His relationship with his parents is alright. He loves them, and they love him, too, but he also would never move back in with his mother. ② Does the character have any siblings? What is their relationship like? Nah. ③ Are there other blood relatives that are close? Are there ones they can't stand? Not to our knowledge. ④ Are there other, unrelated people whom they consider part of their family? What is their relationships with them? Augustine has a close relationship with his Pokemon, of course! I'd like to think he's closes to his Garchomp, seeing they have to be close if she would ever finally mega evolve for him. Her name is Georgette! ⑤ Who is the character's best friend? How did they meet? Lysandre During their childhood Augustine meet Lysandre during trainer exams, they wear paired up together. A comment was made over how Lysandre's hair looked like a Litleo and needless to say, Lysandre didn't care for our charming little smart ass. They both had something in common, they would be going on their adventure without a single friend to call their own and though Augustine did spend the first part of his journey alone... Lysandre soon teamed up with him. Augustine was smart and a good trainer, he wanted his magikarp to evolve and he wanted to be stronger...! The two grew close, around their fifth badge Augustine gave up challenge gyms even though his team was stronger their Lysandre's -- he found passion in other things in this world. They stayed friends as Sycamore traveled, the invention of the Holocauster was constructed so that Lysandre could communicate with his only friend in some-what person. When Augustine returned to Kalos for good they battled again, this time Sycamore didn't stand a chance. They've always been good friends and he's the person our Professor considers the closest. ⑥ Do they have other close friends? Diantha, Professor Samuel Oak, Professor Rowan and his Pokemon, of course.  ⑦ Do they make friends easily, or do they have trouble getting along with people? Very easily. However, the other person might not have the time to deal with him. ⑧ Which do they consider more important: family or friends? I'd waver more towards friends but he almost consider many of them his family. ⑨ Is the character single, married, divorced, widowed? Have they been married more than once? Single! The bachelor life, baby. ⑪ Who was their first crush? Who is their latest? Classified~! ⑫ What do they look for in a romantic partner? Someone that understands his passion, doesn't need to share it but willing to be around Pokemon every single day and care about them and him both. His life is dedicated to these beautiful creatures, they come before anything. He needs a babysitter, honestly? ⑬ Does the character have children? Grandchildren? If so, how do they relate to them? If not, do they want any? No, he has no biological children. Kids take time, sounds like they'd take time away from work. Never happened, doesn't think about it much.He cares about young people, of course! But doesn't think he'll have any of his own.   ⑭ Do they have any rivals or enemies? Nah, free spirit. ⑮ What is the character's sexual orientation? Where do they fall on the Kinsey Scale? Bisexual! He's found nightly comforts in both men and women. ⑯How do they feel about sex? How important is it to them? Again, Pokemon is his main deal. I don't see him getting laid all that often and Sycamore's cool with that. I doubt he even thinks about it, actually. To busy. Not that he doesn't fuck, just rarely.  ⑰ What are their turn-ons? Turn-offs? Weird bedroom habits? Oh boy, I'm going to look super gay here I go *DEEP FUCKING BREATH* Subbing. He's into being dominated. Men, women--whatever. He just wants to lay on the bed. Y'all can do the work. Pump his blood with enough coffee though and he'll bounce.  BELIEFS ① Do you know your character's astrological sign? How well does she fit type? [ ʜᴇᴀᴅᴄᴀɴᴏɴ ] No canon birthday! But his mun has far too much fun divulging into horoscope shit. I can see him being a pisces, born in February. The water sign fits him well, and yes in this case, he'd fit perfectly with pisces. ② Is this character religious, spiritual, both, or neither? How important are these elements in their life? Within the Pokemon world they have this Pokemon God and ahhh, I'd suppose he believes in Arceus. He spent a long while in Sinnoh too, perhaps he's a religious man to some extent?  ③ Does this character have a personal code of ethics or morals? If so, how did that begin? What would it take to compromise it? Everyone's voice matters; he's often encouraging his students to take different paths and explore what they want out of life. I'd say he was just born that way. ④ How do they regard beliefs that differ from theirs? Are they tolerant, intolerant, curious, indifferent? He openly listens to any opinion but will voice his own if they differ completely. I'd say he's typically curious and doesn't like to push his ideals onto others very often. Sycamore has been shaped into the person he is thanks to listening. ⑤ What prejudices does she hold? Are they irrational, or do they have a good reason for them? None. DAILY LIFE ① What is the character's financial situation? Are they rich, poor, comfortable, in debt? Most Pokemon Professors are decently well off but only because they put so much money into their laboratories and less so on themselves. [ ʜᴇᴀᴅᴄᴀɴᴏɴ ] Augustine seems to think he's relatively in fashion but I think it's colorful and cute that maybe that fashion was "in" ten years ago. He's focused so much on his Pokemon that he's grown unfashionable! He'll spend what other little odds and ends that aren't being blown on research equipment on tiny cakes at the cafes. ② What is their social status? Has this changed over time, and if so, how has the change affected them? Most people of Kalos know him as the well-renowned Pokemon Professor. [ ʜᴇᴀᴅᴄᴀɴᴏɴ ] Which has changed since his childhood, having grown up middle class. It hasn't really affected him. He doesn't notice, always being in the lab. ③ Where do they live? House, apartment, trailer? Is their home their castle or just a place to crash? What condition is it in? Do they share it with others? [ ʜᴇᴀᴅᴄᴀɴᴏɴ ] Upstairs apartment of his old family home turned into a Pokemon laboratory! One of the oldest homes in Lumiose City as well. Augustine doesn't live alone, however-- he has all his Pokemon and students Pokemon to keep him company. ④ Besides the basic necessities, what do they spend her money on? CAFES! [ ʜᴇᴀᴅᴄᴀɴᴏɴ ] Coffee, sweets! Sugar! He's got himself a sweet tooth that's never curved and strong addiction to coffee. Some of that cash is spent on cigarettes but nothing compares to his need for caffeine. ⑤ What do they do for a living? Are they good at it? Do they enjoy it, or would they rather be doing something else? Being a Pokemon Professor and of course not! He loves his work. ⑥ What are their interests or hobbies? How do they spend their free time? He loves traveling, spending time with his Pokemon, visiting cafes and chatting with friends! ⑦ What are their eating habits? Do they skip meals, eat out, drink alcohol, avoid certain foods? [ ʜᴇᴀᴅᴄᴀɴᴏɴ ] Often he'll skip meals within realizing, so engulfed in work... he'll drink on certain occasions but rarely drinks enough to build up tolerance. Has someone of an addiction to caffeinated drinks...
